Automation Electronics

BladeView is the latest technology in electronic saw blade performance monitoring. The system measures and displays lateral movement of the saw-blade, without any mechanical contact or wear. A digital read-out panel is mounted in the sawyer/operators cab to provide information to the operator on saw blade on how the saw is performing.

Knowing the amount of deviation of the saw while in the cut provides quality control supervisors and filers with a valuable tool. Operating and benching techniques, along with kerf reduction can all be evaluated with BladeView. The system uses a special type of sensor, mounted to the underside of the top saw guide, to monitor and display deviation of the saw in increments of 0.1mm (.004 inch). Deviation and direction of movement is displayed on a bar graph, as well as a digital reading, on the Main Control Unit.

FEATURES
The basic Blade View is a complete unit to monitor one saw blade, but the extended family can monitor up to 6 saw blades.

Provides a high-resolution plot of deviation which can be logged to Microsoft Access Database

The Main Control Unit can be easily connected to a LED display sign, so that data can be easily read from the field.

With the help of IFIX (Scada Software), the unit can be setup so to limit feed speeds on carriages while in the cut.
